Unprocessed Feelings in the Wake of Another Anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub Massacre

Encroaching oblivion

by Helen Robertson

He stands all day on conquered skulls
Lamenting the sanguine hue it casts on his hands;
The judgement it brings.

With ease he moves
Sure-footed knowing
He will never slip,

Tumble down;

join us.

Below we are pelicans

Yearning never again to feed our young

With our own life’s blood.
